Empowering Transformation: Journey From Shyness To Success
By Taking Fearless Action, I Overcame Perfectionism.
My life began in a middle-class family, rich in cultural values and beliefs. Hailing from the historic city of Allahabad, now known as Prayagraj, a city known for producing leaders, I embarked on a journey that would redefine my identity and purpose. This is the story of my transformation from a timid, introverted student to a confident, successful individual who dared to follow her dreams.
Growing up in a Hindi medium government school, I faced a unique hurdle – limited exposure to the English language. Determined to bridge this gap, I relentlessly pursued learning English. In 2011, I ventured to Bangalore, embracing a new city, new people, and a new environment. Despite facing rejection in job interviews due to my initial struggles with English, I saw this as an opportunity for growth.
My father, an army officer, instilled in me the belief that no work is insignificant as long as it is done with good intentions and ethical principles. Taking this to heart, I humbly worked in a marketing company, doing door-to-door sales. Little did I know that this experience would shape me into the confident and tenacious person I am today. It was during this time that I not only developed fluency in English but also gained invaluable life skills.
From Scientist to Visionary
Despite a successful career as a scientist and microbiologist in a pharmaceutical company, I felt unsatisfied and trapped. Unable to ignore my growing inner discontent, I made the courageous decision to quit my job, even though it was met with resistance from my family. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of my path toward self-discovery and freedom.
After returning to my hometown, I explored various ventures, including a fashion startup, which faced failure amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic. However, I found my true calling when I ventured into the training industry. Teaching communication skills to young professionals allowed me to connect with others and embrace my passion for interacting with people. My aspirations of creating a platform like TeDx came to life with “Pooja’s Talk Show.” Despite facing initial rejections, my unwavering determination and relentless outreach efforts bore fruit when esteemed guests like Shiv Khera, Avi Arya, Actor Ashwin Kaushal, Lata Saberwal, Sabira Merchant, and Celebrity Designer Sandesh Navlakha graced my show.
My journey is a testament to the power of self-belief and taking courageous action.
My message to others is clear: one must believe in their ideas, take action, and not be deterred by the illusion of perfectionism. Embracing challenges, discovering true passions, and evolving through setbacks, my story is an inspiration to everyone seeking to embrace their unique path to success and self-fulfillment.
