Conserve’s Leadership Development Initiative in Baramulla, in Collaboration with Yuni
The Challenge
In Baramulla, Kashmir, women faced limited opportunities for professional growth and leadership development. Conserve and Yuni identified a critical need to equip these women with:

Yuni, founded by Himani Deswal, specializes in holistic growth for women through tailored leadership development programs. Partnering with Conserve India, Yuni aimed to uplift Kashmiri women and create pathways for their empowerment and economic growth.
Innovating through adversity
Yuni wanted to empower women in Baramulla with skills to start and run group enterprises, explore job opportunities beyond the region, and develop strong leadership qualities. However, cultural barriers and limited exposure to professional development presented major challenges.

Building resilience and leadership capacity
Yuni designed a comprehensive 5-day Women’s Leadership Program, strategically spread over several months to ensure deep learning and application. The program was led by Himani Deswal and Aruna Ganti Sangaram, PCC (ICF), bringing diverse expertise to nurture tomorrow’s leaders.
